Community Electorate Group Register
“Building the community always comes first. It’s community, then candidate selection, then the campaign.”
People in communities all around the nation are actively reclaiming democracy by the people, for the people, forming purpose driven, grassroots groups.
Local, independent political groups come in all shapes and sizes, growing out of the unique needs of their community and designed by active community leaders.
Most electorate groups work on the ‘smell of an oily rag’ thanks to dedicated teams of committed volunteers with diverse backgrounds, expertise and skills. Many have never been involved in Federal politics before.
They are always looking to grow their reach, recruit more volunteers and build knowledge and resources. Many also welcome donations.
While there is no one recipe for a community electorate group, all are focused on better representation that puts community at the centre.
